Common questions

Voice recognition isn’t picking up my commands.

Hold the PTT button, wait a beat, then speak clearly at conversational pace. Keep the device 5–6 inches from your mouth. Earbuds with a mic improve accuracy. The recognizer needs a quiet environment — background noise will degrade it.

If specific words are getting misrecognized repeatedly — especially phonetic letters like “India,” “Juliet,” “November,” or “Uniform” — that’s a known limitation of on-device speech recognition. Try saying them more slowly and clearly. The 70% pass threshold on most drills is calibrated to absorb one bad recognition per five reps without penalizing you.

How do I unlock all modes?

Tap the unlock button on any paywall screen and complete the $4.99 in-app purchase. This is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks all modes plus ATC 101 forever, on any device signed into the same Apple ID.

I bought the unlock on another device — how do I restore it?

Tap Restore Purchases on the main menu or the paywall screen. As long as you’re signed into the same Apple ID that made the original purchase, your unlock will restore.

Why is there no audio?

ATC Games is haptic-only by design. Audio output would block the microphone. The haptic patterns are the audio.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. All speech recognition is on-device. The only features that need internet are Game Center leaderboards and the Daily Challenge AI comparison.

Why iPad over iPhone?

iPad has the screen real estate the radar display deserves. iPhone is fully supported but iPad is the canonical experience.

Does the app collect any data?

No. No personal data, no analytics, no advertising. Your voice is processed on-device and discarded. Game progress and unlock status are stored locally on your device. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
